On July 26, the TMA of Lake Cook participated in the first Poster Presentation at the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) Conference in Baltimore, Maryland. The TMA highlighted two Shuttle Bug routes serving non-traditional TMA markets. Most of the TMA’s Shuttle Bug routes connect with Metra Stations in the Lake Cook Corridor.
Route 465 Belmont Station-Esplanade Shuttle Bug is the TMA’s first expansion outside of the Lake Cook area, as part of the TMA’s grant with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) to take the Shuttle Bug concept to other suburban markets in the Chicago area. It provides four morning and three evening trips between the Belmont Metra Station in Downers Grove on Metra’s BNSF line, and the Esplanade Office Complex, also located in Downers Grove. Service began on April 6, 2015.
